Further, in Dr. Wharry's report on the Hospital for 1885, he states that one man cannot possibly accomplish all the Hospital work of a Colony like Hong Kong, and, in support of this statement, he makes the assertion that the three Army Surgeons who relieved one another all - performing his duties whilst he was absent on leave last year, found that they required regular assistance in carrying on the Hospital duties. This statement is misleading, as Dr Wharry has omitted to say that all these surgeons attended to their Military duties at the same time that they were in charge of the Civil Hospital and consequently could
